Objectives
Through the EU-funded ClimSA project, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) is driving the development of climate information services in Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific across priority sectors such as agriculture, disaster risk reduction, energy, health, and water. To strengthen climate information systems and inform other climate finance mechanisms on scaling up programmes, WMO sought assistance in building a comprehensive knowledge base of effective regional and country approaches.
Activities
We partnered with WMO, writing, editing, and producing reports, brochures, and visibility materials. These resources have been used at ClimSA's annual forums, as well as at COP26 and COP27, ensuring enhanced visibility and dissemination of key information.
Impact
Our work with WMO has enabled the organisation to establish a robust knowledge foundation, facilitating the improvement of climate information systems and supporting informed decision-making. By effectively communicating their initiatives through targeted materials, we have contributed to the broader goal of enhancing visibility and raising awareness of the importance of climate information services in tackling climate change.
